Rubbish removal waste guide
A simple guide to what we can and can’t take, so you know exactly what to expect before we arrive.
What we can (and can’t) take
Household Junk
General household items, unwanted furniture and appliances, toys, clothing, boxes and general clutter.
Asbestos, hazardous chemicals, gas bottles, paint tins and liquid waste.
Furniture & Appliances
Sofas, mattresses, wardrobes, tables, fridges, washing machines and other whitegoods.
Items with hazardous refrigerants (let us know ahead of time) and asbestos-containing materials.
Green Waste
Grass clippings, leaves, small branches and twigs, garden prunings, untreated timber offcuts.
Tree trunks over 150mm diameter, treated timber, soil, turf and synthetic grass.
Construction & Renovation Debris
Timber, plasterboard, general demolition waste, carpet and underlay. Concrete, bricks, tiles and industrial rubber are accepted too, but cost more due to their weight.
Asbestos, liquid waste, large concrete slabs (call ahead) and other hazardous materials.
Office & Commercial Waste
Office furniture, stationery, general commercial clutter, old equipment and cardboard packaging.
Hazardous chemicals, medical waste and liquid waste.
Cardboard & General Clutter
Cardboard boxes, packaging, general household clutter and small miscellaneous items.
Hazardous materials, liquid waste and asbestos.
Getting ready for pickup
A few simple things that make your pickup faster and easier for everyone.
Clear a path
Make sure the items you want removed are easy to access, ideally at ground level near a driveway or front yard.
Separate anything hazardous
Point out or set aside anything like paint, chemicals or gas bottles so we can advise you properly.
Let us know about tricky access
Stairs, tight driveways or steep blocks? Mention it when you book so we bring the right gear.
Give everything one last check
Once we’re on site, have a final look so nothing goes that you wanted to keep.
Block driveway or street access
Our truck needs clear access to load efficiently, especially for larger jobs.
Leave hazardous items unmarked
Asbestos, chemicals and liquid waste need special handling, so flag them ahead of time.
Leave big jobs to the last minute
For larger clean-outs, book a day or two ahead so we can bring the right size vehicle.
